About Me

Hi! I am Shubham Darveshi. I am a hobbyist wildlife photographer and avid birder from Mumbai, India. I have completed my Master’s in Natural Resources from Cornell University and my undergraduate degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology.

I grew up watching wildlife documentaries and developed a passion for conserving wildlife and biodiversity. Before joining Cornell, I participated in several training courses in wildlife conservation from conservation organizations such as Wildlife Institute of India, Bombay Natural History Society and World Wildlife Fund-India. I am motivated by my curiosity of the fascinating world of natural history and I seek to understand the ecology and behavior of birds and explore the applications of technology in the field of wildlife conservation.

My primary interest lies in Ornithology and conducting research using quantitative methods and advanced technology like Bioacoustics, Machine Learning and GIS that leads to devising conservation plans for endangered avian species and making informed decision’s through conservation agencies.
